Self-evaluation tools together with the self-observation tool support the professionals to become more conscious and be able to assess their own behaviour and attitude within the relationship to the intellectually disabled person. The tools make the professionals able to follow the development of their personality and their relationships.
The attached collection of self-evaluation and self-analyses tools as well as self-awareness exercises are integral parts of the INV pedagogical model. A useful table gives advice on how to apply these self-evaluation tools in combination with other tools in the different phases of the relationship between the professional and the intellectually disabled person.
The recommended tools, useful for the trainees during the application of the INV model, are described in the training itinerary and also explained by their teachersduring training. A self-evaluation tool is recommended for the connection phase, a more advanced self-evaluation tool developed by AIPD, the 10 points of Carl Rogers and exerciseswith regard to self-awareness.
